Cold storage panels are essential building components for temperature-sensitive industries such as food safety, pharmaceutical storage, and logistics. Izmir Panel cold storage panels provide strong thermal stability even under extreme conditions, minimizing energy losses and supporting sustainable, cost-efficient cold storage operations.
For high-performance cold room and freezer projects, the most effective insulation core is Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam. Izmir Panel PIR cold storage panels offer a very low thermal conductivity in the range of 0.021 – 0.023 W/m·K, making them one of the most efficient insulation solutions available for modern cold chain infrastructure.
Thanks to this efficiency, thinner panels can achieve the same thermal resistance, helping save valuable usable space. For example, a 100 mm PIR panel can deliver performance comparable to approximately 160 mm EPS, resulting in significant volume optimization for storage areas. As alternatives, Polyurethane (PUR) cores also provide strong insulation, while mineral wool panels are often selected for projects requiring enhanced fire safety and acoustic control.
One of the most critical factors in cold storage performance is joint airtightness. Even a small gap of 3 mm at panel joints can negatively affect temperature distribution, increase energy consumption, and create hygiene risks.
For this reason, Izmir Panel applications prioritize precision installation and sealing, using specialized silicone sealants and waterproof sealing tapes on vertical and horizontal joints. These measures prevent moisture ingress, condensation, and icing, extending the service life of the system up to 60–90 years under proper design and installation conditions.

From a fire safety perspective, PIR cores form a protective char layer rather than melting, slowing flame penetration into the core and helping reduce smoke generation. This behavior provides an important advantage for industrial facilities where safety and compliance are priorities.
From a sustainability standpoint, Izmir Panel supports environmentally responsible production through efficient material use and circular approaches where applicable. Studies indicate that using recycled-based composite inputs can reduce environmental impact compared to virgin materials by an average of 21%, while also supporting cost efficiency across the project lifecycle.
